Two strong earthquakes were felt in Ascoli Piceno
, the first around 12:25, the second a minute later.
The Ingv then stabilized the measurement
of the magnitude at 4.1
for the first shock and 3.6 for the second.
The epicenter is located in Folignano (Ascoli Piceno, 24 km deep).
Following the shock recorded by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in the province of Ascoli Piceno, at 12.24 with magnitude 4.1, the Italy Situation Room of the Civil Protection Department got in touch with the local structures of the National Civil Protection Service .
The quake was followed one minute later, at 12.25, by another event of magnitude 3.6.
From the first checks carried out, the Department informs, the event - with its epicenter located in the Municipalities of Folignano (AP), Civitella del Tronto (TE) and Ascoli Piceno - is warned by the population, but no damage to persons or property has been reported.
Even the firefighters at the moment have not received requests for intervention or reports of damage.
A helicopter will fly over the area shortly to check the situation from above.
An earthquake of magnitude 2.5 was recorded by the Ingv network with its epicenter 3 km from Civitella del Tronto (Teramo) at 12:35.
This is the fourth earthquake recorded in the area after those with an epicenter in the Marche region, in nearby Folignano (Ascoli Piceno), recorded by Ingv at 12:24, 12:25 and 12:27, respectively of magnitudes 4.1, 3.6 and 2.0. , the first two felt distinctly also in the Teramo area.
Primary schools evacuated in Teramo, as well as in some towns in the province.
