That's it with the traditional Indersdorf club.

After 51 years, the Catholic Women's League is dissolved.

It is not the first women's association in the district.

Those responsible criticize the diocesan association heavily.

Indersdorf – Up to the end one could still hope that it might still go on, but now it is certain: There will be no more Catholic Women's League in Indersdorf.

All 31 present of the Christian association, which last consisted of 152 members, decided this at the fourth attempt.

The reason is simple: none of the women was willing to take on responsibility even on the fourth attempt.

Indersdorfer Frauenbund dissolves

It was already known last year that the long-time chairman Irmi Spicker and no woman from the previous board team were willing to continue, so

that

the alarm bells were already ringing at the general meeting at the end of May this year.

Because none of the women was willing to take responsibility at this meeting either, another attempt was made at another meeting on July 16 to get a new chairperson.

Following the regulations of the Catholic Women's League, six weeks later they tried again to get a new manager.

According to the statutes, two thirds of the members should have been present, which was not the case.

After four appointments the dissolution was decided

At the now fourth meeting in the rectory, a simple majority was enough to dissolve this women's association, which is important for local events and has been in existence for 51 years.

“Perhaps a club in this form is a discontinued model.

Because it is a sign of the times that volunteer work in all areas is met with less and less interest and commitment," said Chairwoman Irmi Spicker.

Those responsible criticize the diocesan association heavily

What annoys Spicker's team and also regrets the members present is the indifference of the diocesan association.

Neither a call nor an email was received in Indersdorf from this association.

There was particular resentment because the diocesan association didn't care whether another branch association was dissolved and none of the members were interested in remaining individual members of the association.

After Hilgertshausen, Markt Indersdorf is certainly not the last branch to dissolve.

The members accused the diocesan association of disregarding the years of committed work, the disinterest in the fate of the branch association and, above all, the lack of appreciation of the grassroots work in the past 51 years.

At the previous three general meetings, which resulted in the dissolution of the association (we reported), the diocesan association was conspicuous by its absence, despite repeated invitations.

No reaction from the diocesan association

There was also no response to calls from the chairperson.

Instead, the diocesan association collected membership fees for years, increased the fees during the already difficult Corona years, but never took care of the concerns and difficulties of the branch associations at the grassroots level.

Most recently, it was more than 4,000 euros in membership fees that had to be forwarded to the diocesan association.

"At some point the association will have to realize how far it has gotten with its arrogance towards the base," complained one participant, and other women agreed.

All members regretted the dissolution of their branch association and considered that above all Christian values and socializing should be maintained, for example by continuing May devotions, morning prayer or the Way of the Cross.

According to Spicker, the conviviality, which was important for the members right up to the end, can also be lived without an association with a board of directors, for example through occasional private meetings.

"As long as there is a need for community, we will offer something to those who have a sense of home here," Spicker assured, pointing out that on Sunday, October 23 at 5 p.m. there was an October rosary in the monastery church invites.

If Corona allows, there will also be an Advent celebration.

The around 40 mostly older women who have recently come regularly to the women's association meetings are not to be left hanging.

The following was explained as to how to proceed: The members must now terminate their membership in the branch association by September 30 (end of the financial year is December 31).

The members who are still active on September 17 must decide in writing whether they want to leave the KDFB or switch to the diocesan association as individual members or become a member of another branch association.
