Within the framework of the early screening campaign for breast cancer for women and prostate examination for men launched by the National Committee for Cancer Control under the title (Your awareness is your strength), a special examination center has been set up in the outpatient clinics at Salamiyah National Hospital.

The head of the health zone in Salamiyah city, Dr. Rami Razzouk, said in a statement to SANA reporter that equipping the center, which is equipped with the latest medical equipment, came as a result of the great demand by the people in the city and its countryside to conduct tests and analyzes, noting that the center includes a mammograph, in addition to a special laboratory for blood extraction and analysis, with allocating A place for a cervical smear examination and the presence of a specialized voluntary medical staff in order to complete the data of citizens wishing to undergo medical examinations.

Razzouk pointed out that the health zone plan in Salamiyah targets 1,870 men for prostate examination and 2,800 women who will be tested for early detection of breast and cervical cancer. The centers without any trouble, in addition to forming a mobile team at the homes of citizens and instructing them about health and how to conduct the examination.

Nahla Odeh, from Salamiyah, described the campaign as an important health initiative, as it is free, calling on every woman over the age of forty to go to health centers for examinations, which should become periodic and essential after the campaign ends to ensure the stability of their health conditions.

Ali Haidar, a resident of Salamiyah countryside, indicated that he went to the health center after hearing about the campaign in the media and social networking sites, which includes investigations for prostate cancer, the most common among men as they age, noting the distinguished medical services provided by the campaign to citizens.
