Visitors to the Erdinger indoor swimming pool have to be prepared for lower water temperatures.

The municipal utilities reduce by one to two degrees.

The outdoor pool season was average.

Erding – An outdoor pool season without corona restrictions has come to an end in Erding.

Around 77,000 visitors cavorted in the extensive area between mid-May and early September.

The number corresponds to the average value of previous years, according to Robert Maier, head of leisure facilities at Stadtwerke Erding.

The indoor pool opens at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday.

There, visitors have to be prepared for some changes that are due to the energy crisis.

The outdoor pool is closed from September 7th.

"Then the weather got worse, so heating wasn't worth it anymore," says Maier.

Until then, the summer had been nice – and hot.

However, the outdoor pool did not come close to the record years of 2018 and 2015 with a good 100,000 visitors.

The regular customers had to do without the popular season ticket.

"It would have been desirable, but since it was unclear how the pandemic and the energy crisis would develop, we didn't offer it," Maier explains the decision.

An alternative was the 50 coin, which is also valid in the indoor pool and much longer.

In view of the exploding energy costs and the tense supply situation, the municipal utilities had already reduced the water temperature in the outdoor pool from 24 to 23 degrees from mid-June.

"But we hardly needed the heating because the outside temperatures didn't make it necessary," explains Maier: "We always had 24 degrees because the sun warmed the water." additionally a gas boiler.

"So we are very attached to the guest issue," says Maier.

The indoor pool visitors will also notice this.

So there will be no more warm bathing days at the weekend this winter, Maier announces.

The water temperature in the sports pool will be reduced from 28 to 26 degrees, in the children's and non-swimmers' pool from 31 to 29 degrees.

"You'll notice that," Maier knows.

The teaching pool will be 26 to 27 degrees warm, before it was 28 to 28.5.

In addition, only one of the two steam baths will be opened.

Last season both were closed due to the pandemic.

"We'll keep the offer going as best we can," says Maier, speaking of a balancing act that we're trying to find.

After all, the attractiveness of the bathroom should not suffer too much.

"You have to think about where you can save energy, we want to keep the guests." They don't have to put up with any restrictions when showering.

The temperature is not reduced there.

There are already energy-saving heads.

The push buttons that have been installed in the meantime but are prone to failure have been abandoned.

There are only single-lever mixers, says Maier.

The bather decides for himself how warm and how long he showers.

"The guests look very good," Maier knows from experience.

The bistro tenant in the indoor pool is new.

Beatrix Neumann has stopped after a total of 19 years, Maier informs.

Her successor is Alexander Beil.

The small bistro is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The indoor pool itself is open Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Monday is closed because the basic cleaning takes place in the morning, says Maier.

From midday the pool is rented for courses, from 5 p.m. there is club business.

Admission prices remain unchanged.

Adults pay 4.80 euros, reduced 3.80 euros, children (6-14 years) two euros.

There are also 10, 20 and 50 coins and a family tariff.
