Florian Pleiner elected to the new District Fire Council

Florian Pleiner, as the future district fire officer and thus the highest-ranking firefighter in Erdinger Land, has the vast majority of the commanders behind him.

Florian Pleiner from Hohenpolding is the new District Fire Council.

At a commanders' meeting on Tuesday evening in the district office, he received 47 votes from the commanders. 

Erding - 18 executives voted for competitor Andreas Pröschkowitz from Altenerding.

Pleiner will take up his new position in May 2023, succeeding Willi Vogl.

"I'm overjoyed, also because the result is very clear," Pleiner told our newspaper after his election.

That gives him "a lot of support and is a good basis for a close and trusting cooperation".

Pleiner has already named his deputy, previously Pröschkwitz: Lorenz Huber from Oberding.

"One from the east of the district, one from the west, that's the ideal distribution," said the 32-year-old.

Pleiner has not yet compiled the new district fire inspection.

And he doesn't want to do that alone either: "I would like to talk to the district fire inspectors and masters and, above all, the commanders, about what the ideal team looks like."

Pleiner, who is married and works in the data center of the cooperative banks, joined the Hohenpolding fire department in 2005 at the age of 15.

In 2014 he became its commander.

Six years later he was appointed district fire chief for the Taufkirchen/Holzland area.

Until recently, Pleiner was deputy head of the disaster protection department in the district office and deputy managing director of the special-purpose association for rescue services and fire brigade alerting.
