Hong Kong Chaozhou Festival is the main "cloud exhibition area", which broadcasts Chaoshan scenic spots and always looks forward to eye tourism to solve homesickness

The Federation of Hong Kong Teochew Associations held the 3rd "Hong Kong Teochew Festival" at the Wanchai Convention and Exhibition for five consecutive days. Under the epidemic, a "Cloud Tourism" exhibition area was specially set up to broadcast the scenery of Chaoshan, allowing citizens to visit the local scenic spots with their eyes.

Chairman of Chaozhou Chen Zhenbin delivered a speech at the opening ceremony today (22nd), hoping that the Chaozhou Festival can relieve the homesickness of the "Teochew" in Hong Kong and introduce the latest development of the country to the public.

The opening ceremony was attended by more than 40 members of the Legislative Council. Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-kee and Deputy Secretary Cheuk Wing-hing were invited to participate. Chan Kwok-kee thanked Mr. Chao for his active participation in social affairs to promote prosperity and stability in Hong Kong, including during the fifth wave of the epidemic. During the raging period, volunteers were organized to help pack "epidemic prevention kits", and several symposiums were held to learn the content of President Xi Jinping's "July 1" speech.

The "Hong Kong Teochew Festival" was held for the first time in 2015 and 2017. This year, it has moved indoors for the first time. There are 138 booths and a number of cultural exhibition areas to introduce the development history of Chaoshan. It also exhibits Teochew crafts, gold lacquer wood carvings, ceramics, There are handicrafts such as double-sided embroidery, as well as punch-in sets such as Shantou Xuanwu Mountain, Chaozhou Xiangzi Bridge, and Chaozhou Daleng. There is also a "cloud tourism" technology interactive exhibition area, allowing citizens to "visit" Chaoshan scenic spots.

Lin Jianyue, chairman of the Chaozhou Directorate Council, said in a speech that the Chaozhou Festival specially arranged for students to become docents, hoping to strengthen the national identity of young people.

Chen Guoji pointed out that the "Cloud Tourism" exhibition area will help deepen the public's understanding of Chinese culture, hoping that the event can promote economic and trade exchanges between Chaogang and Hong Kong and boost the economy.
