"The traffic status maps on SYTADIN are not filled in or incorrect", specifies the Île-de-France Roads Department, which adds that most of the signs have been turned off but that some may still display messages that are not more topical… and are therefore false.
Nine departments concerned
According to BFMTVParis, the network affected by this outage covers nine departments.
It encompasses more than 450 km of expressways, national roads and 22 long tunnels.
In all, four million motorists may be affected by this breakdown, says the chain.

Variable message signs are used in particular to disseminate information on traffic, journey times and accidents.
They are also used to convey reminder messages, on the necessary rest for example.
