Even before he began his speech, Lapid caused a stir when it was revealed that he would present the vision of the two-state solution • The Prime Minister is expected to also speak about Iranian aggression

Prime Minister Yair Lapid is speaking at the UN General Assembly today (Thursday) in front of many world leaders. Even before the speech, Lapid caused a stir when it was revealed that he intends to present a political vision that calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state.

A senior political official added that Lapid chooses to emphasize the Palestinian issue even if he pays a price for it at the ballot box.

"I don't know if it's harmful or helpful in terms of mandates, but people need to be told where the country is going. The approach that will be presented in the speech will not be a rush to a new Middle East, but we need to start with careful negotiations that will not come at the expense of security," said the senior political official.

In his speech at the UN, Lapid will refer extensively to Iranian aggression and will call on the international community to reach a new and much stronger nuclear agreement with Iran. He will also appeal to the Arab countries that have not yet signed peace with Israel to join the Abraham Accords process. In addition, Lapid will speak about Israel's international legitimacy in the UN arena and denounce the boycott movement.
