Today, Iraqi forces eliminated two ISIS terrorists and destroyed a terrorist den during a security operation in the Hamrin Mountains in northeastern Iraq.
The Iraqi News Agency, INA, quoted the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, as saying that "the Counter-Terrorism Service, in a joint operation with the National Intelligence Service and the Iraqi Air Force, managed to kill two ISIS gang members in the Hamrin Mountains."
Rasoul added that the Special Operations Forces carried out a successful airdrop, in which they were able to storm a terrorist den in the same area and destroy it completely.
In a related context, the spokesman for the Joint Command, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, confirmed in a statement that "the number of ISIS terrorists in Iraq is less than 1,000, and most of them are local," pointing out that these terrorists are spread over four or five detachments.
