Lapid at the UN Assembly: "Two states for two peoples is the right thing for Israel"
The Prime Minister expressed support for the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, but demanded that it not threaten Israel's security.
In addition, he called on the countries of the world to threaten military action against Iran if the regime in Tehran tries to obtain nuclear weapons.
"Every time such a threat was brought to the table in the past, Iran stopped, and withdrew"

Prime Minister Yair Lapid this evening (Thursday) expressed support for the idea of establishing a Palestinian state alongside Israel, but qualified his words and demanded that it not threaten the security of the residents of Israel.
"An agreement with the Palestinians, which is based on two states for two peoples, is the right thing for Israel's security, for the Israeli economy and for the future of our children," Lapid said at the UN Assembly.
"Despite all the obstacles, even today a large majority of Israelis support the vision of the two-state solution, I am one from them.
We have only one condition - that the future Palestinian state be peace-loving," continued the Prime Minister. "That it not become another terrorist base from which Israel's safety and existence are threatened.
May we have the ability to protect the security of the citizens of Israel, at any moment."
