Ten months of suspended prison sentence were required Thursday, September 22 against two police officers accused of violence on a young man, with nine broken teeth during a demonstration against the pension reform in December 2019.

After four dismissals, the two defendants, members of the Lyon anti-crime brigade (BAC), appeared for "

willful violence by a person holding public authority

", one of which for acts "

resulting in more than eight days of ITT

about Arthur Naciri, then 23 years old.

Passing through Lyon and present according to him "

" in the procession bringing together more than 10,000 people, the young seasonal worker had had 21 days of ITT, as well as thousands of euros in dental costs.

During the hearing, the defendants did not admit the facts, one explaining that he had not struck a blow, the other denying having hit the victim in the face.

Videos and photos of the arrest were shown during the hearing, where Arthur Naciri can be seen being grabbed by a police officer and then released with a bloody mouth.

It was after the publication in the press of photos and videos taken by witnesses showing the young demonstrator with his bloody mouth that the Lyon public prosecutor's office had opened an investigation and that the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) had been seized. .

Initially scheduled for December 2020, the trial was postponed to February 2021, due to an overcrowded hearing and the unavailability of defense lawyer Me Laurent-Franck Liénard.

The defense then requested a second referral to analyze a photograph produced by the civil party, showing that the perpetrator of the blows was not the one designated by the IGPN at the end of its investigation.

The next hearing, at the end of September 2021, has been postponed to April 2022 - the image expertise not yet available.

Then that of April postponed again for a “

hearing too busy

”, of which the civil party says to have been informed the day before.

At the very first hearing, Arthur Naciri said he was convinced that without the media coverage of the case and without the images taken by witnesses, the two police officers would not have had to answer in court.

He wanted them to "

recognize their wrongs

" - they did not do so before the IGPN - by asking for compensation for his incapacity for work and his dental expenses.
