For the new year, we came to "Hummus Ahmed Said" to enjoy the dishes and the hummus that everyone is talking about.
Ahmed Said, Omar and Iyad are three childhood friends who grew up together in the village of Zemar.
Each of them came to the world of restaurants and kitchens from a different direction, but when they grew up they gathered all their years of experience together and in 2009 opened "Ahmad Said Hummus" in the Tnuvut industrial area.
The hummus recipe has been passed down countless generations
The success of "Hummus Ahmed Said" did not surprise them.
Nevertheless, hummus is made with authentic recipes that are passed down from generation to generation in the family, and for them hummus is the bread and butter of the house.
But not only the hummus caught on.
The atmosphere in the place, the service, the smile and the generosity of the heart and hand made "Humous Ahmed Said" a center of pilgrimage.
Hospitality like the hand of the king in the spirit of tradition and culture that they absorbed from home
In light of the success, the trio of restaurateurs opened in 2012 the "Shipodi Ahmed Said" restaurant in the Emek Hafer industrial area.
There they offer a wide variety of grilled meats, homemade salads and even sweets for dessert, all in the spirit of the culture they absorbed from home and their traditional hospitality that advocates generosity, kindness, love for fine food and an abundance of love, which is expressed in every dish.
Reserve places - everyone has a place of honor
If it weren't for the professionalism of these partners, their ability to manage business together successfully, and to survive the terrible statistics of the restaurant and food industry in Israel, they would not have reached the success they did.
The skewers and hummus are almost always filled to capacity, and it is recommended to inform in advance before arriving to reserve a place.
Spice mixes that are not even available in the villages
And that's not all.
In 2019, they opened the "Ahmed Said Restaurant" in the Beitan complex near the beach road, adjacent to the Hasharon Lily interchange.
You might think that the bustling traffic lane is the reason why the place is always full, but a little peek inside immediately reveals the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the freshness and the abundance that is served to the table.
I came to see what it was about.
The hummus is prepared here on the spot, several times a day.
The spices are authentic, some of them cannot be found in regular spice shops, because there are mixtures that only grandmothers know how to make.
The toppings are rich and the salads are much more than indulgent.
What can be said?
Everything here is simply delicious, and that's even before you get to the main course.
And when the meats started to arrive, the aromas opened all my chakras.
It was rich, it was juicy and it was made in the most professional way.
From the aging of the meat to the plates, you can see that there is a professional hand here that takes care of the meat.
You can also see that the raw materials here are carefully selected.
Everything is prepared with a strictness that I have not seen in many restaurants throughout the country, and most importantly - everything is clean and superbly maintained.
They are preying on the world of restaurants in Israel
I have no doubt that the fact that the three food businesses of Ahmed Said, Omar and Iyad also survived the Corona crisis, alone indicates correct management from a business and culinary point of view.
Among us, many know how to prepare delicious food, but maintaining, operating and managing 3 food businesses over the years is already much more than the average restaurateur can handle.
So if you're craving a good meal or wiping away your daily protein ration at one of the "Ahmed Said" restaurants, don't hesitate, but make a reservation so you don't have to wait.
I warn you in advance, it's worth the wait, but your taste buds will have a hard time resisting the temptation and anticipation, and yet, it's totally worth it.
To finish, I left here with baklava and coffee to go.
I thought it was time to save before the holidays, but there's no way I'm going to give up handcrafting such an authentic and amazing dessert.
