The Criminal Security Branch in Rif Dimashq Governorate seized two warehouses in the city of Duma containing large quantities of food and relief supplies, and five people were arrested, including the owners of the two warehouses.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of today that the Criminal Security Branch in Damascus countryside, through monitoring and investigation, managed to seize two warehouses in the city of Duma that contained large quantities of food and relief materials with the United Nations and Red Crescent logos on it, which included “rice, flour and chickpeas.” And blankets, sponges and pillows,” a large number of gas cylinders intended to be traded on the black market, and the seizure of 400 empty flour bags belonging to the General Organization for Mills.
The ministry indicated that five people were arrested, including the owners of warehouses and people who trade in the aforementioned materials, and an audit of their conditions found that they had a history of trading in relief materials and traders in ration flour.
The ministry indicated that the necessary action was taken against the arrested in coordination with the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus countryside, and investigations are still ongoing with them to reveal all those involved in the case and they will be brought to the competent judiciary.
