Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described as inappropriate US President Joe Biden's distortion of Russian President Vladimir Putin's words on nuclear weapons.
"The president of the United States distorted the words of the Russian president in his speech to make it sound as if our country is threatening the world with nuclear weapons, and this is absolutely inappropriate behavior," Zakharova said in a television interview, according to RIA Novosti.
In his address to the Russian people yesterday, President Putin touched on the West's nuclear blackmail, warning those trying to threaten Russia with nuclear weapons that "the winds may blow in their direction."
"I would like to remind them that our country also possesses weapons of mass destruction, and in some parts of them are more advanced than their counterparts in NATO countries," Putin told those making such statements.
