"They play again tomorrow," the statement said.

Update from 7.43 p.m

.: The last song by the band Josef Menzl is "I did it my way" by Frank Sinatra.

A young woman tells our editors: "It's a mess what happened to this band at a Bavarian folk festival." Again, loud chants of "Menzl, Menzl, Menzl" echoed in the first rows in front of the stage and partly from the gallery.

"Thank you for your support.

That made waves all over Germany.

We showed that brass band music works too.” A farewell statement from Josef Menzl on stage, he explains: “We Bavarians all belong together and celebrate with everyone.

I'll come down to Eich and celebrate with you." With that he announces his farewell to the Wiesn.

For his part, the band no longer plays, as our local editor reports.

Update September 21, 1:57 p.m .:

In the afternoon, the confused situation in the “Bräurosl” should be determined in a press statement.

In advance, however, a spokesman for the Paulaner brewery made it clear that the "Festkapelle Josef Menzl" could continue to play in Peter Reichert's marquee - but no longer in the evening program.

Another band is now planned for this.

In our original report (see below) we reported on a general dismissal of the musicians.

Oktoberfest 2022: Zoff about "Bräurosl" tent - brewery exchanges band

Original message:

Munich – It began with accusations, some wildly worded, on the internet: the chapel in the new “Bräurosl” doesn’t create a mood and there’s also a lot going wrong in landlord Peter Reichert’s Oktoberfest tent.

Even the "worst band we've ever experienced" is the "Festkapelle Josef Menzl", rumbled one Internet user.

Although the musicians started a desperate Instagram call, they are no longer allowed to appear in the "Bräurosl".

"We're exchanging the band now," said the Paulaner brewery as the owner of the tent

on

Tuesday evening (September 20).

Many visitors were bothered by the fact that the "Festival Band Josef Menzl" only wanted to play brass band music.

Without party classics, the mood in the "Bräurosl" is missing, so the accusation.

"We need the support of you, the fans of brass band music.

Come to us, bring friends, children, grandparents with you.

Give the brass band a chance," the musicians had resisted via Instagram.

On Wednesday morning, it was no longer available on the band's official website.

According to reports, a friendly band of the evicted should now take over - which also has cover songs in the repertoire.

Bad air at the Wiesn: the city calls in the "Bräurosl" host

Landlord Peter Reichert, who only took over the "Bräurosl" at the Oktoberfest in 2022, has to be prepared for unpleasant conversations.

Wiesnchef Clemens Baumgärtner told

Bild

: "We will summon the host, listen and examine the facts carefully." However, there is no prejudice.

In Google reviews, among other things, there was criticism of the marquee kitchen and the way the waiters were treated in the "Bräurosl" (Reichert had also jumped off a few recently because of the weather).
