The Somali army has eliminated 15 militants from Al-Shabab, which is linked to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.
"After information obtained in advance, the Somali forces, in cooperation with the local people, thwarted an attack launched by the terrorist group on the military bases in Galmudug state, central Somalia, which resulted in the killing of 15 militants," the Xinhua news agency quoted the Somali Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism as saying in a statement today.
The Somali government has intensified the measures it has taken to combat terrorism, as its army has been fighting a war for years against the armed Al-Shabaab movement, which has adopted numerous terrorist operations that have killed hundreds of people.
