A police officer tried to intervene in the fight - and was run over by one of those involved
The policeman, who was on duty near the Tamra intersection, recognized a fight developing there and intervened in an attempt to disperse it.
After that, a driver who apparently wanted to help one of those involved arrived at the scene - and ran over the policeman.
The condition of the security forces man who tried to drive the vehicle away by shooting its wheels is moderate.

A police officer was moderately injured yesterday (Thursday) after being run over by a vehicle near Tamra Junction.
From a preliminary investigation it appears that the policeman, who was present at the scene and was on duty - recognized a violent incident developing between several armed people in one of the businesses on the spot.
The police officer who intervened and tried to break up the incident, got into a confrontation with one of those involved.
At this point, a vehicle arrived at the scene with several other suspects, apparently with the aim of helping the suspect - who tried to run over the security forces man.
In response, the policeman shot at the wheels of the vehicle, but it managed to escape.

The MDA team that was called to the scene gave the policeman initial medical treatment and evacuated him to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
The police arrested one suspect for involvement in the incident, and searches are underway for the other suspects.
The investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues.
