Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed that the international community was unable to end the Israeli occupation and deter its continuous aggression against the Palestinian people, calling on it to provide international protection for the Palestinians and realize their legitimate rights to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
In his speech today before the United Nations General Assembly at its 77th session, Abbas said that the occupation entity has committed brutal crimes against the Palestinians since its establishment, as it destroyed 529 Palestinian villages and forced more than 950,000 Palestinians into forced displacement, according to the records of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). More than fifty massacres since 1948 until today, which claimed the lives of tens of thousands of martyrs, mostly children, women and the elderly, recalling the massacre of children, which killed 67 children during the occupation aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip last year, calling on the International Criminal Court to investigate these crimes immediately.
Abbas explained that the occupation entity is carrying out a colonial settlement campaign by seizing Palestinian lands, planting them in settlements and looting their resources, in addition to the escalation of daily crimes by settlers, including killing, arresting, burning, demolishing homes and facilities, bulldozing farms, cutting trees, and attacking Islamic and Christian sanctities. He said, “Israel has left us nothing of the land.” Let's establish our independent state in light of its frenzied settlement onslaught."
Abbas pointed out that the United States of America provides unlimited support to the occupation entity to commit more crimes and aggression and protects it from accountability. international law.
Abbas indicated that the United Nations, with its various bodies, issued hundreds of resolutions related to Palestine, and the occupying entity did not implement a single resolution, calling on the international community to move to end the occupation, stop its aggression, and protect the Palestinian people, their rights, and their state based on the relevant international resolutions.
