And yet, the Muzik'elles festival will be held this Saturday at the Tauziet stadium in Meaux.
This musical meeting, created for the first time in 2005, had ceased to exist at the end of 2014. "We had stopped it with a heavy heart after ten years of success due to cuts in budget allocations", recalls the mayor of Meaux, Jean-Francois Copé (LR).
The famous DGF, global operating grants, are money that the government gives to local communities.
Their amount had dropped in the fall of 2014. This is now a thing of the past.

This Saturday's concert is a prefiguration of the great and real return of the Muzik'elles, the last weekend of September 2023. In a year, therefore.
And it will be over two days, as was the case before the aforementioned interruption.
This Saturday's festival is called "On and On".
“This festival is a bit of a

This is an event to test things.

“As for the name, in English, it refers to the “
on
” and “
off
” found in all festivals, explains the mayor.

The city produces the event itself
The budget, twice as low as the very last edition of the Muzik'elles, in September 2014, amounts to 600,000 euros.
But the patrons (the regional council brings 25,000 euros and the departmental council 50,000 euros, for example) and the expected entries, the total cost of the operation should not exceed 400,000 euros for the city.
The novelty in accounting, which is important, is that the financial management is provided by the Meaux management and not by a private service provider as was the case in previous editions.
"We are the ones who produce the event", sums up Jean-François Copé.
Four to five thousand people are expected at the Tauziet stadium.
There are still places for sale (*).
The headliner will be singer bassist Calogero.
The singers Hoshi, Naomi Greene, Marie Flore and the rap group YN will also be on stage.
“For Calogero, we had the opportunity to welcome him for the last date.
The spirit of the event remains the same: either female artists, or songs about women or male artists who "invite women on stage" (as Julien Doré did in his time in Meaux, in 2009) .
