There is at least a little celebration now: After the big anniversary party of the fire brigade and miners' association fell through in 2020 due to Corona, there is now a ceremony this Saturday evening in Peiting.
Peiting - We remember the big disappointment a good two years ago: the miners' association and traditional costume band and the fire brigade had prepared everything for their big anniversaries.
150 years of military service and 100 years of miners' association should be duly celebrated together.
And then this: everything had to be called off due to the corona virus.
Only the commemorative publication, which had already been completed, was distributed to the households.
It's been two years, but there's still a bit of celebration going on.
Namely on Saturday, September 24th, on the main square in Peiting.
"We said that if the opportunity arises, we'll celebrate afterwards," says fire brigade commander Klaus Straub.
And that opportunity has just arisen for this Saturday.
The background is the "Long Night of the Fire Service", during which actions for citizens take place at many fire services in the district at the weekend.
At the same time, the traditional Michaelmas concert of the Peitinger Knappschafts- und Trachtenkapelle takes place this weekend.
Well, if that isn't an excellent choice for an after-party.
Half an hour of ear candy
It starts at 6.30 p.m. with the Michaelmas concert by the chapel on the main square in Peiting.
After about half an hour of feasting for the ears, the event moves on to another festive occasion: three new vehicles that the fire service has received are blessed by the Peitingen pastors.
Afterwards, things get particularly festive: the miners' association and traditional costume band perform the "Miner's Serenade" together.
"It's similar to a tattoo," explains Franz Multerer Jr., director of the orchestra.
The accompanying music was penned by Simon Fröller.
From 1959, the music teacher was principal conductor of the band for a total of 26 years.
He practically tailored the melody for this very special march of the Knappschaft and Trachtenkapelle.
The "Miner's Serenade", which goes back to mining, can only be experienced on very special occasions and festivities in the market town.
For the public, the celebrations on Saturday evening on the main square should definitely be a very special visitor magnet.
