Extension of the deadline for property tax returns: "Avoidable bureaucratic burden"
In a letter from the Mittelstand working group to the finance ministers of the federal and state governments, the
Handelsblatt
reported that the corona and energy crises had drained the substance of many companies.
In the currently extremely challenging situation, any additional and avoidable bureaucratic burden must urgently be avoided.
The deadline extension must now come quickly.
Florian Kölbler, Chairman of the German Tax Union
The working group went on to say that it would be incomprehensible that it would be necessary to “submit a very complex property tax value declaration” by the said date.

Tax union demands extension of deadline for property tax returns
Meanwhile, the tax union and the Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors are warning of chaos if the deadline for property tax returns continues to end on October 31.
The tax offices are already suffering from a lack of staff, according to the chairman of the German Tax Union, Florian Kölbler.
“The extension of the deadline must now come quickly.
Otherwise, the tax offices are in danger of collapsing under the deadline extension requests,” says Kölbler.
