This morning, in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as in the liberated regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye, the process of voting for the referendum on joining the Russian Federation began.

According to the Russia Today website, voting will continue for five days until the 27th of this September.. For security reasons, voting will take place during the first four days from homes, where electoral committees carry ballot boxes and roam residential neighborhoods and homes to collect citizens' votes, in order to ensure the safety of citizens and avoid their crowding at centers to Their gatherings do not target the Ukrainian forces, but on the last day the voting will be at the polling stations

In order to guarantee the rights of refugees from Donbass and liberated areas on Russian territory, polling stations were set up in the provinces and regions of eastern Russia and opened their doors to receive refugees and vote from the morning hours.

In a press statement, the President of the Luhansk Republic Leonid Pacenik said: "We have been waiting for this day for eight long years... Through this referendum we will find calm, peace and a return to the motherland."

It is noteworthy that the authorities of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics announced on September 20 their decision to organize a referendum on joining Russia during the period from 23 to 27 of this month.
