An annoyed resident fights a common Oktoberfest problem single-handedly: she shoots Wildbiesler out of her window in front of her house - with a water pistol.

Munich - It is not a trivial offense, but a misdemeanor and can even be considered a public nuisance in individual cases.

We are talking about "wild beesling", which is particularly rampant in Munich during the Oktoberfest - although there is a risk of a hefty fine.

An annoyed resident now takes unusual measures and "shoots" the peeing culprits herself - with a water pistol.

Oktoberfest: Wild pee costs up to 1000 euros - but many get away with it

Some love the fifth season, others are annoyed.

However, everyone can probably agree that excessive alcohol consumption at the Wiesn does not lead to the most brilliant decisions for most visitors.

A man, for example, slept off his intoxication twice in one evening with the Oktoberfest paramedics.

Another Oktoberfest visitor found an interesting place to relax: the luggage rack in the S-Bahn.

Many Wiesn guests apparently also have difficulties finding the toilet when they are drunk, because peeing wildly is almost part of the cityscape during the Wiesn, although fines of up to 1000 euros are possible.

However, the police cannot punish every incident, because with millions of visitors, the officials have their hands full.

In 2019, there were 469 crimes on the Theresienwiese alone.

Water pistol is now used against wild peepers instead of against pigeons

A local resident no longer put up with the "wild beesling" and is taking action against it on her own.

For years, the tenants of their apartment building have been putting up a fence on the ground floor during Oktoberfest, the resident told the RTL television station.

However, this would shift the problem to the entrance to the underground car park, "because logically it cannot be closed," the person concerned continued.

But then she apparently had a flash of inspiration.

Actually, she had bought a water gun to defend herself against the pigeons.

"But then I had the idea that I could also spray people with it," says the accountant.

It remains to be seen whether the strategy will be crowned with success.

In any case, the resident probably has a lot to do until October 3rd.
