300,000 Russian reservists are now supposed to be deployed in the Ukraine war - but is the country's elite willing?

Supporters of the Kremlin critic Navalny wanted to know.

MOSCOW - Some candidates for Putin's ordered partial mobilization are not at all enthusiastic about their future task.

A prominent example is said to be the son of Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov himself – and those close to the Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, of all people, want to have exposed him.

"Popular Politics" is a YouTube channel run by supporters of Navalny.

The channel shared a clip on September 21 in which the presenter apparently calls Peskov's son Nikolai on a live broadcast to tell him that he will be called up next morning;

it should start with the medical examination.

The moderator pretended to be an officer.

The answer was short: "Certainly not".

He doesn't take part and isn't anywhere on the mat at ten o'clock!

"My name is Peskov!

I'll take care of it on a different level," the callee evaded in the clip.

Partial mobilization by Putin: Navalny supporters want to trick Peskov's son

So this is the attitude of those closest to Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin?

So far, of course, it has not been proven that it was really Peskow's son and it is also unclear why the moderator had his number.

However, an employee of the portal wartranslated.com judged on Twitter: "The voice sounds very similar to him."

And Olexander Scherba, Kiev's ambassador to Austria, was also pleased in a tweet about the presumably successful telephone prank.

"Obviously Peskow's soh fell for a prank," he wrote:

Incidentally, Navalny himself, who was imprisoned in the penal camp, said of Putin's mobilization: "In order to prolong his own power, he is tearing apart the neighboring country, killing people there.

And now he's throwing a huge number of Russian citizens into the meat grinder.” Putin's most prominent Russian critic has been in prison since January 2021.

He denies the allegations made against him.

Below you can see the original of the prank phone clip, which is currently causing a lot of attention.

In the settings you will also find (automatically generated) German subtitles:

So far, Russian volunteers had fought in the Ukraine war.

Now the decree forces people to go to war.

300,000 reservists are said to take part in the military operations in Ukraine.

Observers in Russia are also speaking of a desperate move by Putin.

Despite travel bans, many Russians tried to escape abroad after the announcement.
