The prosecutor's office today (Friday) filed an indictment against 30-year-old Jason Blaise for the murder of Yelena Granberg in Rehovot about a month ago.

The two were friends for four years, during which Blaise asked Gerenberg to make their relationship romantic.

However, she refused and finally, according to the indictment, he decided to murder her.

"At the end of August, Blaise decided to kill Granberg and burn her body, and equipped himself with a knife and bottles of gasoline," the indictment states.

"Two days later, he drove her from her house in Rishon Lezion to various places in Rehovot, when at the end of the day, the two were supposed to arrive at her sister's apartment. On the way there, Blaise stopped in the parking lot of the train station in Rehovot, stabbed Granberg in her neck, back and hands, causing her death."

Later, he drove to an open area in the city, placed her body on the ground and poured gasoline on her.

However, in the end he did not set it on fire, but drove back to his house.

During the ride, he threw away both of their cell phones.

In addition to the indictment, the prosecution asked to extend his detention until the end of the proceedings.

"Blaise murdered Granberg in cold blood, for no wrongdoing. And this after planning in advance, when he planned to burn her body, in a public place," the arrest request states.

Adv. Abd Abu Amar, who represents Jason Blaze on behalf of the public defender, said in response to the indictment that "this is a tragic incident.

Blaise is deeply saddened by the death of the deceased and shares in the family's grief.

They were very close friends, he never had any intention of harming her, this is a very unfortunate circumstance as a result of a momentary loss of control during a spontaneous confrontation.

The indictment was only filed today and we have not yet received the evidence, after studying the material we will present our arguments in court."
