2022-09-23T18:39:57.825Z

Activists from the Extinction Rébellion and Attac associations chained themselves this Friday in front of the hall of one of the platform's buildings.

They had made noise there in January, and are already promising a third punch action.

Eight months after entering the grounds of Le Bourget airport to denounce the "climate aberration" that they believe travel by private jet constitutes, activists from the environmental associations Extinction Rébellion and Attac again took over the platform this Friday. afternoon, again with the aim of calling for a ban on this type of flight which the Minister of Transport recently announced that he wanted to regulate.

These activists - they were about twenty -, dressed in a white overalls of house painter, blocked from 3 p.m. and for more than an hour the hall of a building which allows access to private planes.

They unfurled a red and white banner criticizing "climate criminals" above the entrance, where there was also a sign supposed to indicate the growing quantity over the minutes of carbon dioxide which, thanks to this operation of civil disobedience, would not have been released into the air.

“The event took place in a public area and had no impact on airside traffic”, we are assured, however, of the side of Groupe ADP, manager of Le Bourget airport.

We are here to demand a ban on #PrivateJets!

While we are told "the end of abundance", the behavior of the + rich is exploding max CO2 emissions to keep a liveable planet...

"For every 10 minutes the jets are prevented from taking off, a quantity of kerosene representing more than a ton of CO2 is not burned," Attac said in a press release.

“We are here to denounce the use of private jets, justifies Annick Coupé, spokesperson for the association.

How to justify that in the midst of the climate and energy crisis, the richest are increasing comfort travel in private jets?

While the government asks the most precarious to reduce the use of their car, to lower the heating, to cut the wi-fi, no constraint weighs on the richest.

This spectacular action within the first business aviation airport in Europe ended with the arrest by the police and the gendarmes of the activists who had chained themselves to the entrance of the building.

Groupe ADP announces its intention to file a complaint, as it did at the start of the year when environmental activists broke onto the tarmac.
