The two bodies discovered recently in Meurthe-et-Moselle, that of a dismembered woman and a headless man, have no connection between them, the latter having obviously committed suicide, indicated this Friday, September 23 the prosecutor of the Republic of Nancy, sweeping away the rumor of a "
serial killer
".
The bodies had been discovered a few days apart, about fifty kilometers from each other, raising suspicion of a possible connection between the two cases.

But if the criminal trail is obvious with regard to the mutilated body of the woman discovered on September 19 in Mont-Saint-Martin, near a disused building, the thesis of a suicide is very likely concerning the body discovered a few days earlier in the forest of Moyeuvre-Grande, which dismisses the "
rumor of a serial killer
" which swelled in the region, said François Pérain.
"
The death of this man dates back to June
" and his body, reduced to the state of a skeleton, was "
obviously
" "
altered by wild animals
", explaining "
the absence of a head
", according to the prosecutor.
"
This case (...) has nothing to do with the discovery of this woman's body
," he insisted.
The victim not yet identified
The results of the autopsy of the body of the woman, who was between 20 and 35 years old, did not reveal any traces of bullet or stab wounds or sexual violence.
She was probably killed “
within 24 hours
” preceding the discovery of the body, obviously “
dismembered in another place
”, according to the magistrate.
The victim, not yet identified, had a navel piercing and two tattoos, one in the right groin mentioning the word "
Kiko
", probably a "
nickname
", the other on the lower back representing a dagger and a rose, said the magistrate, who distributed drawings of these tattoos to the press.
DNA analyzes are in progress, continued François Pérain.
The hypotheses of a feminicide or the murder of a prostitute killed in neighboring Belgium or Luxembourg are considered.
“
A dozen criminal investigators are working full time on this investigation
” which promises to be “
long and difficult
”, declared the divisional commissioner Antoine Baudant, head of the judicial police of Metz, in charge of the investigations.

The prosecution has also opened a procedure to identify the author of a video of the victim's body circulating on social networks, said François Pérain.
