After a lengthy discussion at the July meeting as to whether the purchase of balcony power plants should be financially supported in Hohenpeissenberg, the municipal council has now decided against it.

The subsidy was seen as too much and too little at the same time.

Hohenpeissenberg – Weilheim does it, Peiting does it, Hohenpeissenberg doesn't do it.

In its most recent meeting, the Hohenpeissenberg municipal council decided against promoting the purchase of balcony power plants, as small photovoltaic systems are also known.

As reported, there was a lengthy discussion at the July meeting after municipal councilor Hermann Summer (Aufwind) suggested financial support for the purchase of balcony power plants.

It's about offering the citizens a suggestion to buy the small photovoltaic systems, to give a little impetus, Summer said at the time: "The financial outlay for the community would be manageable."

The municipal treasurer, Martina Rauch, had prepared a corresponding application, the SPD municipal councilor Dr.

Bernhard Fabel praised in the most recent municipal council meeting: "The important things are in there, others were left out - that's exactly how it should be."

However, as Mayor Thomas Dorsch (CSU/non-party) explained, the social component that many councilors had called for was not included in the application because it would have made the whole process too complicated.

"That's out of all proportion to the effort," said Dorsch.

However, he assumes that only people who could not otherwise afford to purchase the system will apply for the subsidy.

"And that those who can easily afford it don't take the 100 euros from the local community," said the mayor.

The application provided for Hohenpeissenberg to make 4000 euros available to support citizens who want to buy a balcony power plant with an amount of 100 euros each.

This means that 40 households could have received a subsidy of 100 euros for the purchase of their small photovoltaic system.

Applicant Summer and his party colleague Gabriela Seitz-Hoffmann were not present at the beginning of the discussion - the municipal council meeting had exceptionally started at 6 p.m. and not at 7 p.m.

Dorsch clarified that if those two votes were decisive, he would postpone the vote until upwind local councils could vote.

However, as was already evident in the discussion, the majority of the municipal councils were against the sponsorship of the balcony power plants: “I think that as a municipality we don't have to sponsor private individuals.

If someone wants to do it, they do it themselves," said the second mayor, Gerlinde Rasch (CSU/non-party).

In addition, in her view, there are more important things that could be supported with this money.

All of her parliamentary group colleagues saw it the same way and voted against the motion, except for the mayor.

The Free Voters also voted against the promotion of balcony power plants.

The votes of the SPD local councils, who voted unanimously for the funding, and those of the two Aufwind local councils, who arrived in time for the vote, could no longer change anything.

Summer expressed astonishment that there was such resistance for this small amount compared to other resolutions.

But that didn't turn things around: the motion was rejected by a vote of 10 to 6.
