The Russian Security Council discusses the protection of national values

The Russian Security Council, during its meeting today chaired by President Vladimir Putin, discussed the organization of work on issues of moral and patriotic education in the higher education system and public education.

The RIA Novosti news agency reported that Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov submitted to the council his ad hoc report on civic education issues.

It is recalled that in the National Security Strategy of Russia, support for public projects aimed at patriotic education of Russian citizens is named one of the tasks of protecting traditional spiritual and moral values, culture and historical memory of Russia.

The Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said earlier that the ideological confrontation between Russia and the West in the spiritual sphere is the most acute, so it is especially important to define the foundations of state policy to preserve traditional Russian moral values.

Russian media reported that the country is discussing the draft foundations of the state policy for preserving and strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, and it will become one of the main strategic planning documents.
