(CNN Spanish) --

A Mexican judge suspended for the second time the transfer of drug trafficker Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo from a maximum security prison in the state of Jalisco, in the west of the country, to a residence, where he will remain under the figure of house arrest, according to a statement from the General Directorate of Prevention and Social Reintegration of that state.

According to the press release, Félix Gallardo was not transferred because the judge postponed the measure until "the faults of the company that will provide the electronic bracelet" that the detainee must wear are corrected.

  • Who is Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, the “Boss of Bosses”?

It was in response to a request from the Attorney General's Office, which had requested that Félix Gallardo be transferred to a Federal Center for Social Rehabilitation in the state of Morelos while these flaws were corrected.

The judge denied this last request, according to the statement.

Known as "the Boss of Bosses," Félix Gallardo was one of the most influential drug traffickers in Mexico in the 1980s.

CNN is trying to contact the Department of Prevention and Social Reintegration of Jalisco and the Attorney General's Office to obtain more details.

Félix Gallardo, who has spent almost 34 years in prison for various crimes against health, crimes related to drug trafficking and for the murder of DEA agent Enrique Camarena Salazar, was to be sent home on September 15, after a judge in Mexico City granted him the benefit.

Then, the director of Prevention and Social Reintegration of Jalisco, José Antonio Pérez Juárez, said that the transfer would not take place because the National Guard, which had to escort him and protect him in a private home in Zapopan, did not have the "capacity" in that time for transfer.
