About a month ago, Boaz Bar Enan, a 37-year-old Israeli hiker from Tel Aviv, was killed while climbing a mountain in Indonesia, a country that does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.
It was reported in the local press that he was traveling with a Portuguese passport and climbed Mount Rinjani near the city of Lombok, stumbled into a ravine at a height of 150 meters and fell to his death.
Bar Enan was a programmer by profession and used to travel a lot.
A few days earlier, Baruch Yona, 57 years old from Jerusalem, drowned in Sinai, who had gone to vacation in Nueva with his wife and their two children.
"He was with the two children on the beach and I saw them all the time," told Walla!
Baruch's partner.
"At one point I brought them water to drink, then I went into the room to change into a bathing suit to go in with them. When I came out I didn't see them and I saw people who were so frightened and running and I realized that something had happened. I ran myself, saw the children and calmed down. But then they told me that dad was inside."
"Until now I don't know what happened exactly, but it's probably because of the tide. There was a drift of the water," she explained.
"The children were wearing floats and all sorts of things. They must have been swept away and he tried to pull them to shore. From what I understand, he had a weak pulse at first, they did CPR on the spot, but unfortunately it didn't work."
Eli Noi, Baruch's brother-in-law, said that he and his children "only arrived there yesterday to spend the long-awaited summer vacation - then the disaster came. A man who did no harm to anyone, the Lord of the world - why? Why do you take the good ones?".
