Two very special fire engines

The Geiselbullach fire brigade is imaginative, as they recently proved when expanding their vehicle fleet.
The volunteers started a big fundraiser for a new, non-operational team car, including one in a beverage store.
Geiselbullach - A few deposit slips have come together.
Now the car will be inaugurated with another special vehicle.
Those who handed in their bottles and crates to the Rewe drinks market in Geiselbullach could easily do something good with them.
All you had to do was throw the deposit slip in a box for the Geiselbullach fire brigade and you were already part of what will now culminate on Saturday: the new team car will be inaugurated.
Fundraiser
"We organized a big fundraiser," says Jens Metschkoll.
The team car is not required for fire protection, but is required for other journeys, such as courses.
It is, so to speak, an all-purpose car.
However, the city didn't spend any money on this because it wasn't relevant to the operation, so the volunteers around Commander Tim Pelzl got creative.
Around 40,000 euros were raised through donations alone – not quite the hoped-for goal, but still.
The vehicle costs 46,000 euros.
According to Metschkoll, the fire brigade association donated the rest from its treasury.

The new red racer will now be inaugurated at the Long Night of the Fire Brigade, a Bavaria-wide campaign tomorrow, Saturday.
It starts at 1 p.m. with an ecumenical service, during which the new supply truck will also receive its blessing.
"This is a very special fire engine," says Metschkoll.
This is because it has a lifting device for pylons.
This was copied from the Autobahnmeisterei, as it says on the website.
In the course of the replacement procurement of the vehicle, this was specially advertised in 2022.
The advantage: the pylons for securing accident sites (the Geiselbullachers are used a lot on the autobahn) are in a box in front of the truck.
As a result, the crew can always stay in front of the vehicle, which increases safety, as the website says.
The long night of the fire brigade
After the ecumenical service (1 p.m.) and the dedication of the vehicle, there will be white sausage and pretzels (around 2 p.m.), coffee and cake will be waiting from 3 p.m.
The action program starts at 4 p.m.: 4 p.m. car crash and start of the hands-on area, 5 p.m. grease fire explosion, 6 p.m. public quiz, 7 p.m. panel discussion/lecture, from 7 p.m. music and entertainment, 8 p.m. fashion show “The protective suits of the fire brigade", 9 p.m. fat explosion and end of the hands-on area, 10 p.m. public quiz and midnight bouncer.
