Favorites include Elvis, Katrin, the late "Hartz und cordial" icon Dagmar and Christine.

The family of eight around Elvis and Katrin has been planning renovation work in their house in the "quiet corner" for about six months.

Katrin and Elvis' family of ten has been living in the yellow terraced house in the Benz barracks in Mannheim since 2018.

The home of the extended family is slowly showing the consequences of ten residents and mother Katrin wants a new coat of paint for some rooms in her house.

They have made good progress with their renovation work on the first floor - but Katrin has come up with something special for the kitchen.

Mother Katrin complains that her children like to run down the stairs and rub their hands along the wall, which leads to dark welts on the white wall.

That's why the hallway should finally get a new coat of paint.

Even the largest room in the house, the eat-in kitchen, should shine in new splendor.

Katrin got a special color for this room: "glitter purple".

Elvis doesn't like his wife's choice of color at all.

The 50-year-old prefers to keep it simple: "Honey, that's too dark.

For the hallway or something, okay - but not for the living room.

You get depressed after all,” Elvis railed against the original wall paint.

The fact that her choice of color does not meet with approval from her husband Elvis makes the "Hartz and warm" awareness angry.

But Katrin wouldn't be Katrin if she allowed herself to be deterred from her plans.

The wife of the shack darling has had enough of her husband's empty promises - and takes the change in their house into their own hands.

In order to appease her husband, Katrin makes a compromise: "He can choose the color in the bedroom.

He doesn't want a specific color.

He would like gray and white best," said the barrackler in the new episodes of "Hartz and warmly".

Katrin finally wants it to be "tidy, clean and fresh" and is looking forward to the changes in the Mannheim Benz barracks.
