Controversy over the energy transition: The switch to renewable energies is being discussed controversially because of the current price level.

When it comes to renewable energy, Herrsching is one of the last in the district.
In the most recent meeting, the council majority therefore approved an SPD request to have an expert draw up an energy concept.

– In the opinion of the SPD parliamentary group in the Herrsching municipal council, climate change and the energy crisis are forcing us to deal quickly with the development and use of renewable energy sources.
Your spokesman Hans-Hermann Weinen explained the motion to commission an expert to develop an energy concept and, with the exception of the administration and four votes from the CSU, met with broad approval in the most recent meeting.
From the point of view of the administration, there is no need for an external energy concept, said the head of the building department, Guido Finster, after listing what the council committee had already decided and tried: suitable areas for open-space photovoltaic systems, for example, were in protected areas.
Apart from launching an appeal to private landowners, the community can do no more.
The municipality is also open to geothermal energy, but there are no offers.
Last but not least, there has already been a decision in principle to merge with other communities.
An issue "that we should now tackle," said Anke Rasmussen (Greens).
An expert who tells you what is possible is the best way, said her parliamentary colleague Gerd Mulert.
“Of course we still have resources.

says the energy expert who is on the board of the Fünfseenland energy cooperative.

In any case, open-space photovoltaics and geothermal energy are not in the hands of the municipality.
The same applies to wind turbines, which are not possible on Herrschinger Flur.
"We are the last to oppose it," said Bader.
Wolfgang Schneider (SPD) contradicted the argument insofar as private landowners would have help with a concept.
Farmer Magnus Ruhdorfer came to mind.
In the most recent building committee, he nodded in agreement from the rows of visitors when there was talk of equipping the open space for his chickens with photovoltaic systems, for example.
An expert can support him in the implementation.
Hans-Jürgen Böckelmann (Greens) also liked the idea of involving an expert, as with the traffic concept.
"We should at least make a decision in principle," he said.
The majority, with the exception of four votes from the CSU, agreed on this.
In principle, an energy concept is therefore approved.
The administration should obtain corresponding offers before the budget consultations.
