Less stringent limits on peak hours to choose for the mandatory cut in electricity consumption and on the calculation of the solidarity contribution for energy companies.

It emerges from the latest draft compromise by EU ministers, viewed by ANSA, on measures against expensive energy.

Governments are asking to cover "

at least 7% of peak hours

" over the entire period from December to March compared to the 10% of the monthly hours foreseen by the Commission.

In the draft, the extra-profits of the fossil companies are instead calculated on the basis of the profits of 4 years starting from 2018, against the period 2019-2021 proposed by Brussels.
