The special forces of the security forces of Russia and Abkhazia carried out joint exercises in the port of Sukhumi under the title “Port 2022” in the presence of the President of Abkhazia Aslan Bejyania.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted a source in the Russian Federal Security Service as saying that the exercises were aimed at combating terrorism and countering political extremism, in which a force of the Russian Federal Security Service, a joint group of the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Security Service and the State Customs Committee of Abkhazia participated.
He pointed out that during the exercises, boats, armored vehicles, snipers, divers, ambulances and fire engines were used.
