The anger about the German fiber optics in Langenpreising is really big.
This became more than clear in the town hall meeting.
The company is now reacting to this.
Langenpreising – In Langenpreising, German glass fiber is threatened with a similar embarrassment as it was years ago in Zorneding: There is no progress.
The citizens who have signed contracts increasingly feel duped.
When asked by the local newspaper, Dominik Bayer, press spokesman for the German fiber optics company, doesn't even try to sugarcoat anything: "We can't say that we're on schedule."
Mayor Josef Straßer (FWG) put the gun on the company's chest before the citizens' meeting on Wednesday: "If I can't say anything specific, we'll talk to each other in a completely different way," he quoted himself from the conversation with the company, that was "not so friendly anymore".
In any case, the citizens themselves are annoyed: it was Max Steck who energetically demanded information in the meeting.
Straßer reported that it wasn't that easy to even get a competent contact person on the phone.
He was surprised that anyone called back at all.
And lo and behold, he actually made a promise: the German fiber optics wants to complete the construction site by December.
There was unrest in the hall, apparently many did not really want to believe it.
This also includes Straßer, who spoke of the Christ Child that he had seen.
There were technical problems in the cable feed to Langenpreising, Strasser reported from the talks.
The day, the head of the municipality indicated, is approaching when the subscribers could withdraw from the contract.
"The e-mails are getting friendlier," said the community leader ironically, whose patience is clearly coming to an end.
The fact that Straßer has to give the lightning rod at meetings does not please him.
He is increasingly in need of explanation, because the decision in favor of the company from Borken in North Rhine-Westphalia was made in the municipal council.
Straßer recalled that he spoke to other communities at the time, and the vast majority - with the exception of Zorneding - he was told that "it fits".
When the company started in Berglern, the local newspaper had asked the employees responsible at the time about the delays in Zorneding.
"Yes, Zorneding didn't go well at all, but we learned from Zorneding," was the answer at the time.
Company spokesman Bayer named the cause of the delay: Everything is ready, all house connections have been laid, but on the day on which the technical distribution board was to be put into operation, fiber damage appeared in the supply line, which had not yet been localized, let alone repaired can become.
However, Bayer has a schedule: "We want to bring customers online from October." By Christmas, they want all customers to have access to the services they have booked.
