The body of little Mattia was found in a field in Trecastelli. The owner of the land gave the alarm.
The body was found by the carabinieri, on the recommendation of a citizen.
The field is adjacent to the Nevola River.
The remains are in an advanced state of decomposition.
An autopsy and DNA examination will be required for identification, which the Prosecutor has already ordered.
"By now the hopes are over" told ANSA Tiziano Luconi, the father of little Mattia, 8 years old,
lost in the flood of 15 September, whose body was found in a field in the territory of Trecastelli, near via Holy Trinity.
Neither the father nor the mother will go to the place where the body was found, he added.
"I know it's impossible to find him alive but at least I want a grave to cry on."

Mattia's mother, Silvia Mereu,
turned to the reporters at the point where the searches for her son were concentrated in the same moments in which the baby's body was found in another area.
The woman had arrived at the point where the rescuers were looking for the baby just to ask that the searches not stop.
The body of little Mattia was found about 13 km away from Farneto
, the town of Castelleone di Susa where on the evening of September 15 he abandoned his car, dragged by the flood, together with his mother Silvia Mereu, out of the window.
The two were then separated by the violence of the water: the mother was found cold and injured a couple of kilometers away.
It was an employee who works in a country kindergarten who found the body of Mattia,
the eight-year-old boy who was missing since the evening of September 15: the woman spotted him about 200 meters from the Nevola river bed and he notified the owner of the land, who then called the Carabinieri.
At the time of the discovery, the little boy was wearing a yellow and green shirt.
Firefighters, financial police, local police, civil protection and 118 have also converged in the area. The body has already been taken from a funeral home van and the autopsy could be performed tomorrow.
At the place of the discovery, only the carabinieri remained for the reliefs.
Today was the eighth day of research for Mattia Luconi, 8, and Brunella Chiù, 56.
Firefighters, mountain rescue, civil protection, carabinieri, financial police, in all over 120 units at work: preparatory activity during the night, searches from early morning after the briefing and the delivery of the search areas for each team.
