Igor and Sasha came from Russia to the kitchen in Givati on Rosh Hashanah to cook for 1,200 fighters • "We will go into the kitchen in the morning, put on music and cook"

The twins Igor and Sasha Osoltsev (20) will spend the current holiday surrounded by food, in the kitchen of the rookie base in Givati.

"We are both very happy to cook for 1,200 people. It is a great honor, and also our most challenging and important job," they tell Israel Hayom.

"In what other position in the army are you responsible for feeding so many people? It's a position where you can't be sick, because then there's no one to feed all the guys. We really recognize the importance and responsibility of the position."

Won't you miss your family?

"Our parents are in Russia, and we won't see them until after the service. When we enlisted, our mother made sure that we wouldn't see each other until after our joint service. When it turned out that we would both be cooks together at the same base in Givati, she was very happy, because that's how we see each other all the time ".

"We will get the menu from the opponents."

Despite the external identity, when it comes to food and love for the kitchen there is still a slight difference between the twins.

Igor already started cooking before his military service in a restaurant and came to the army with knowledge in the field.

Sasha, on the other hand, did not know how to cook and made his way to the kitchen with his brother in the IDF.

"When I was in school, I joined a restaurant and was a cook," says Igor.

"I wanted to see what it was like, and I was captivated by the magic of the position. When I arrived in the army, I already knew how to cook and realized that this was the position I wanted to do."

Igor says that even today he works in a restaurant during the week when he is off.

Sasha, on the other hand, says: "I got the knowledge to cook in the army, but I want to emphasize that it's a really fun job! I enjoy cooking. Although I got all the experience here, it's an important and exciting role."

As for the preparations for Rosh Hashanah, the two say that "we will get the menu itself from our opponents. It will include poultry, fish, beef - a whole day's work. We will go into the kitchen in the morning, put on good music and everyone will start their part. Everyone will prepare the foods that they want Love, and that's how we'll serve a great holiday meal."
