A source in the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mezintsev has been appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, replacing Army General Dmitry Bulgakov.
"Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mezintsev has been appointed to the post of Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, and in this position, Mezintsev will supervise the material and technical security of the Russian Armed Forces," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted the source as saying.
The source noted that Mizintsev replaced Army General Bulgakov in this position and that the latter was transferred to another post.
Before that, General Mizintsev held the position of head of the National Defense Administration Center.
