The "Cocktail House Manufaktur" in Sachsenkam and "Mariensteiner Brauhaus" from Waakirchen rely on cooperation and bring "Bier-Spritz" onto the market.

Sachsenkam/Waakirchen -

It's all in the mix: This motto has always applied to the business idea of the "Cocktail House Manufaktur" in Sachsenkam, which offers ready-made or pre-mixed cocktails in bottles.

With a new cooperation, owner Carmen Ehrsam is now proving that she has by no means exhausted the possibilities of mixing.

In cooperation with the "Mariensteiner Brauhaus" she brought the beer spritz "Spritzige Marie" onto the market.

Corona hit cocktail manufacture hard

"Almost unsolvable" are the problems that the small Sachsenkamer company with six employees recently went through - and which are still to come, reports Ehrsam.

As reported, the Corona crisis had already hit your company hard - especially since it had fallen through the grid of the guidelines for the Corona aid loans.

Today she says: "We survived the pandemic well." This is thanks to the fact that "everyone helped together," says Ehrsam.

Many discussions and mutual understanding between her suppliers, her customers and her in the middle were the key.

In addition to hotels, her customers also include a large cinema chain, according to the owner.

In the meantime, however, the next enormous challenges are on the horizon.

"Before, I wasn't even aware that so many bottles come from glassworks in the Ukraine," says Carmen Ehrsam.

After the factories there had ceased operations because of the war, "I had to cancel three large orders because I couldn't get any bottles".

The glassworks that currently serve the market are now faced with the problem of enormous energy costs.

"They work with gas." Suppliers in France, from whom they themselves purchase liqueurs and spirits, face the same problem.

Likewise, the price of paper "went through the roof," says Ehrsam.

"I now pay twice as much for cardboard boxes."

Cooperation with regional partners

In these difficult times, the businesswoman seeks her salvation in cooperation with regional partners, among other things.

She found one in the “Mariensteiner Brauhaus” from Waakirchen.

The small family business brews four types of beer - dark beer, wheat beer, light beer and pilsner - which are available in retail outlets in the region, for example in Bad Tölz at Edeka März and drinks Trops or in Lenggries at drinks Oswald and at the "Traglschubser".

The small brewery also “brutally lost business” due to the closure of the catering trade during the Corona period, says owner Martin Schwind.

Waakirchner brewery with creative ideas

The Waakirchners have always relied on creativity.

"We've also made noodles or white sausage mustard made from wheat beer," says Schwind.

And: "Working together with others is important." It was also the "Brauhaus" that approached Carmen Ehrsam and asked: "Wouldn't we like to sit down together?" -Spritz", reports the entrepreneur.

You have - "it was always very funny" - tried out different variants.

Pils was chosen from the four types of beer in the brewery, “as far as I know, there isn’t a Pils spritz yet,” says the cocktail expert.

Among the spirits that people wanted to add, tequila prevailed over vodka, gin or rum.

Mixed with syrups and liqueurs "we won't tell"

the "Splashy Marie" was born.

Eight centilitres of this mixture, mixed with a 0.33 liter bottle of pilsner and ice, now results in a tart, sparkling summery mixed drink.

Ehrsam and Schwind have tested their creation at various festivals, such as on the Prater Island in Munich, at the Schliersee Lake Festival or at private parties.

"We only got positive reactions."

Ehrsam's goal is now to establish the "Spritzige Marie" in gastronomy and at events.

It is also planned to place packages of several bottles of Pils and one with the Spritz mixture in retail.

And: "We should make sure that we come to the Wiesn with it next year," says Ehrsam.

The "Spritzige Marie" is also available through the online sales of the two companies.
