Anglers make a probably life-saving observation on the Fulda.
A man had fallen into the water and was in danger of drowning.
Melsungen – It is probably thanks to anglers that a man did not drown in the Fulda on Saturday (September 24).
The Petri disciples noticed a man sitting below the raft dock on the opposite bank.
When a few minutes later only the man's white hair was sticking out of the water of the Fulda, they alerted the rescue workers and ran over the St. Georgs Bridge to the spot, as reported by hna.de.
They could not see whether the man slipped on the wet bank or fell down the embankment.
Police, ambulance and fire brigade also came to the Fuldufer opposite the parking lot of a grocery store.
As the police confirmed, the anglers were able to pull the 72-year-old from Melsungen out of the knee-deep water and save him from drowning.
Man falls into the Fulda: cause still unclear
He was then taken to a clinic by the emergency services to have illnesses or injuries clarified.
Firefighters no longer needed to be active.
The reason why the man fell into the Fulda could not be clarified.
