In a press release published on Saturday, these deputies of the presidential party refer to a letter sent the day before to the President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet, in which they justify the instruction of such an investigation "
in view of the seriousness of the facts
” and so that the information established can “
be brought to the attention of French citizens and our justice system
”.

On Friday, the National Rally, which refutes the majority's accusations of depending on Russian power, also announced that it would table a resolution on Monday to create a commission of inquiry in the Assembly.
Its role, according to the RN, would be to "
specify the nature of the links between certain elected representatives of the presidential majority and Qatar

According to a declassified American intelligence document made public on September 13, several hundred million euros have been paid since 2014 by Russia to political parties in several countries with the aim of increasing its influence and influencing the polls.
