Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law extending the agreement on the survival and development of the Baranovichi station in Belarus for early warning of missile attacks for a period of 25 years, which can be extended.
The Russian RIA Novosti news agency reported that the aforementioned agreement was signed on January 6, 1995, and expired on May 30, 2021, while it continued its work without waiting for the completion of legal procedures to extend its existence.
The station warns of ballistic missiles, space objects and others, as it monitors them, tracks them, and sends their coordinates, speeds and altitudes to the command centers of early warning systems that cover the skies of Russia, Europe, the Atlantic, the Middle East and other regions in the world.
