Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alon Oshfiz petitioned the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Judge Yitzhak Amit, against the ministry's employees' committee this evening (Saturday).
In the petition, the director general of the ministry asked for an order instructing the committee to refrain from interfering with the regular course of the elections, and to cancel any order given to prevent the sending of ballot boxes and voting materials to state missions abroad due to the labor dispute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the petitioners, some of the Foreign Ministry employees are preventing the ballots from being sent to the state embassies abroad. "The longer the Foreign Ministry employees prevent the ballots from being sent, they may not reach their destination in time to allow the voting of state employees and other bodies entitled to vote at Israeli embassies abroad," the petition states .
