Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabash, discussed during a phone call today with his Lebanese counterpart Dr. Firas Al-Abyad ways of coordination and cooperation regarding the transfer of survivors and the bodies of victims in the accident of the sinking of the Lebanese boat off the coast of Tartous Governorate.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Dr. Ghobash indicated that the date of delivery will be determined based on medical reports related to their health condition, and follow-up on the transfer of the victims’ bodies in coordination between the ambulance system, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Lebanese Red Cross.
Dr. Al-Ghubash pointed out that the search for the missing is still underway and the health staff are fully prepared, pointing out that the governorate has responded and alerted, especially in the ambulance and emergency system, since the first moments of receiving a report from the port of Arwad Island that there were a number of people at sea.
Minister Al-Ghubash stated that the number of victims reached 90, while the number of those receiving treatment at Al-Basel Hospital has become 14, two of whom are in intensive care, according to an incomplete outcome.
