The Traffic Division of the Israel Police has completed its preparation for the Tishrei holidays and the holy days of the month - according to a statement issued by the police spokeswoman.

The wing issued a list detailing the expected loads on the roads during the holidays.

During the holiday and Hol HaMoed (Sukkot), traffic congestion is expected on the main roads and intercity roads.

The preparation of the traffic division will include the deployment of police forces, mobility and motorcycles in the field, in order to direct the traffic and allow, as much as possible, free and safe movement for road users.

According to the announcement, police officers and traffic department volunteers will enforce life-threatening offenses and those that may cause serious accidents.

The activity will be carried out using a variety of overt and covert measures, with the aim of preventing and reducing the offenses that affect the occurrence of road accidents.

The traffic department asks drivers to be patient, drive with caution, according to the road conditions and avoid distracting actions while driving.

"Please note that even on the days of Kippur there are security and rescue vehicles on the roads. You should avoid driving bicycles and electric tools on the intercity lanes and on the expressway," the message reads.

The department recommends drivers to drive carefully and responsibly and to obey the instructions of the police officers and the rules of the road, not to drive at excessive speed - which increases the chance of being involved in a fatal accident, not to use a mobile phone while driving and to wear life-saving seat belts.

The wing explains that the shul is part of the road.

In the event of an emergency where you had to stop at the roadside, all occupants of the vehicle must immediately and carefully pass the safety barrier, move away from the side of the road and call Moked 100.
