Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denounced this Saturday at the United Nations platform the "unprecedented" and "grotesque" Russophobia of the West.
“Official Russophobia in the West is unprecedented, its scale is grotesque,” he told the UN General Assembly.

“We are no longer ashamed to say that we want to make Russia disappear.
We want to remove from the map of the world a geopolitical entity that is a little too independent, ”says the minister.
“They do not hesitate to declare their intention not only to inflict a military defeat on our country, but also to destroy Russia,” he added, before attacking the United States more directly.
"By declaring itself victorious in the Cold War, Washington has set itself up almost as an envoy of God on Earth, without any duty, but with the sacred right to act with impunity anywhere and anytime," said Sergei Lavrov.
“The unipolar world no longer suits us”
"This Western arrogance and American exceptionalism have destructive significance today," he said, arguing that Brussels and Washington have "provoked war against Russia."
He believes that the Americans “(tried) to make the whole world their backyard”.
The Russian minister, for example, cited the embargo against Cuba for 60 years.
“The unipolar model of the world no longer suits us,” he continued, referring to “enrichment” in defiance of Asian or African countries.
“Today, we see that the unipolar order only sows division, in a logic of bloc, of confrontation:
either you are with us or you are against us
.
There is no third way, no possible compromise.
He also defended annexation "referendums", describing people reclaiming "the land where their ancestors lived for hundreds of years".
And “now the West is having a fit,” he quipped.
