Fireman Mario wants to set a world record - and for a good cause.

He wants to run on the treadmill for 42 hours in front of the Europa Passage.

Hamburg – It would be a new world record.

Running non-stop on the treadmill for 42 hours - and in full fire brigade protective gear.

Sounds crazy.

But fireman Mario tries – to collect donations for a good cause.

The promotion started on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Since then, Mario has been running on a treadmill in front of the Europa Passage in Hamburg.

Mario only wants to stop when he has the new world record in his pocket.

The time has come for Sunday, September 25, 2022, when the shops open at 2 p.m.

Until then, Marion wants to collect a lot of donations for the good cause.

"But I would like to use the platform primarily to draw attention to the work of @dkfshilft and @paulinchenev," writes Mario on his Instagram profile.

Many Hamburgers, but also people from all over Germany, are supposed to help.

Because Mario does not want to run the 42 hours alone, as reported by 24hamburg.de.

"Join me during the action and run with me!

Treadmills are available on which you can donate 1 euro per minute of running and thereby support me and my heart’s mission,” Mario calls on people to take part.

But why is Mario actually doing this?

“I think it suits me and what I do and what I stand for.

And he brings the necessary attention to my heart's task - to make me strong for terminally ill and injured children," he writes on Instagram.

If you want to take part, you have until Sunday to take part in the campaign yourself.

The treadmills are in front of the main entrance to the Europa Passage in downtown Hamburg.

If you don't want to run but still want to donate, you can do so up to and including Sunday.

You can find the account details on Mario's Instagram profile.

Last but not least, Mario also has a very special motivation for all Hamburg residents and Hamburg visitors: "Who can claim to have ever done sport with a view of our beautiful Alster?".
