Artist and plastic critic Adeeb Makhzoom presented this evening his new solo exhibition entitled: “Shaping and Fashion in a Foundational Vision”, in addition to a lecture that included the same topic.
The exhibition hosted by the Social Forum in Damascus included 33 new large-sized paintings using oil-on-canvas technique, illustrating the essence of the interrelationship between plastic art and modern fashion lines.
Concerning the exhibition, the artist Makhzoom said in a statement to SANA reporter that it constitutes an extension of an exhibition he held last year in the Al-Riwaq Al-Arabi Gallery under the title “Formation and Fashion in the Space of Abstraction.” By abstract art when printed on fashion, which helps in the dissemination of abstract art.
Makhzoum pointed out in his lecture that the focus on fabrics that are characterized by the spontaneity of their drawings and colors represents the greatest interest among international experts in the field of fashion, after abstract formations with their rich colors entered the pieces of clothing, so that modern models with their lines and colors look like plastic art paintings extracted from all art schools. the talk.
Makhzoum explained that the drawings that were used in the past as textile formations in some clothes have been developed, so that modern abstract formations have become an essential feature that distinguishes women's, men's and children's clothes that are appropriate for contemporary life and keep pace with the trends of international fashion lines, indicating that this influence initially moved from the data of modern French plastic art to Modern models and fashion by Yves Saint Laurent, one of the most distinguished names in the field of modern and modern fashion design.
Makhzoom stressed that the abstract plastic structures played an important role in the fashion of the past, but they did not bring the boldness that we find in today's fashion, as the spontaneity of colors and their frankness have become an essential element of the modern fashion elements that have reached us from the capitals of fashion, elegance and art.
